Dr. Nicole Frendt
Dr. Nicole Dingwell Frendt is a health administration and social work professional with a wide range of expertise in population health, social capital measurement, and community-based intervention. She is skilled in evidence-based program design, organizational management, and policy implementation to improve community health outcomes.
An academic researcher focused on inclusive population measurement and cross-cultural communication in clinical mental health settings, Dr. Frendt has a strong record of publications, teaching, and cross-cultural engagement. Her most recent research focuses on social capital indices, including their validity in examining public health and mental health outcomes.
She currently serves as adjunct faculty at Touro University’s Graduate School of Social Work, MSW Global Online Program. She also has experience as a clinical and management field supervisor at the University of Michigan School of Social Work where she supervised MSW students during field placements in clinical and community settings, providing ongoing mentorship and performance evaluation.
With more than a decade of clinical practice and non-profit leadership, Dr. Frendt is a licensed clinical social worker, certified addictions counselor, and trauma specialist with expertise in betrayal trauma, abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, and trauma resolution. Her therapeutic approach integrates EMDR and Somatic Experiencing to support healing and resilience. She is also a certified RYT500 Yoga teacher and incorporates Polyvagal Yoga and shame resilience work in her practice to offer her clients a comprehensive body-based path to recovery.
Dr. Frendt earned her Doctor of Health Administration from Central Michigan University. Her dissertation examined the construct validity of county-level social capital indices and their relationship to population health outcomes. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in International Health Systems from Central Michigan University.
The founder and clinical director of a nonprofit outpatient mental health facility, Dr. Frendt is a private practice therapist specializing in
providing sex offender, trauma-focused, and addiction-focused therapy to individuals, couples, and families using evidence-based interventions.
Dr. Frendt is available for case consultation with fully licensed, limited-licensed, and intern therapists.
